Australian Plums Make Historic Debut in Vietnam with Exclusive Launch Events
In a milestone moment for Vietnam’s imported fruit market, Australian plums were officially introduced to consumers at exclusive launch events in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. The events, hosted by Summerfruit Australia and Horticulture Innovation Australia (HIA), marked the official launch of Australian plums into Vietnam, offering local consumers access to this premium, fresh, and nutritious fruit.
Bringing together key figures from the fresh produce industry, the events welcomed over 20 leading retailers, importers, and fruit store chains from across Vietnam. Representatives from Austrade Vietnam and AusCham Vietnam, as well as 20+ Vietnamese KOLs and KOCs, also participated in the celebrations, underscoring the significance of Australian plums’ entry into this dynamic market.

Nearly 40 attendees, including representatives from The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Australian plum importers, retailers in Vietnam, and KOLs/KOCs passionate about clean food and healthy lifestyles.

The launch events featured a rich program of activities designed to showcase the superior quality and versatility of Australian plums. Highlights included a networking session with industry leaders, featuring insights from Summerfruit Australia, and an interactive tasting session where guests experienced the naturally sweet and vitamin-rich plums firsthand.
To further emphasize the fruit’s culinary potential, a live cooking demonstration presented innovative uses for Australian plums, featuring delectable plum desserts and refreshing plum mocktails. This showcase provided key stakeholders in the HoReCa sector with creative inspiration for incorporating Australian plums into menus across Vietnam.
