One of the biggest challenges in the future for growers will be how to modernise their orchards, and how to take on new technologies to improve production out comes. New technology comes out nearly everyday, so how do growers know what is worth the investment and what will work for their farms?The team at AgVic have been trying to answer this question, by trialling technologies at the Tatura Smart Farm. In particular, they have been working with an Atlas Green Cartographer; a multi-sensor platform, which when used can help predict tree yield, fruit quality and fruit maturity. It can be used on a range of tree structures, tree densities and fruit crops.
