Overview

This policy explains how Summerfruit Australia Limited (ABN 51 105 962 196) (‘SAL’, ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’) handles refunds for memberships purchased through our website at www.summerfruit.com.au and our member portal.

This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Membership and Privacy Policy. It applies to all membership fees paid to SAL, including new memberships, renewals and upgrades.

Membership fees

SAL memberships are paid annually and provide access to member benefits, resources and services for a 12 month membership cycle from the date of purchase or renewal.

By purchasing or renewing a membership, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted this policy.

No pro rata refunds

Membership fees are non refundable. If you cancel your membership, choose not to renew, or your membership ends for any other reason during a paid cycle, you will not receive a refund or partial refund for the unused portion of your membership.

Your membership will continue to provide access to member benefits until the end of your current paid cycle, after which it will lapse unless renewed.

Membership upgrades

You may upgrade your membership at any time during your membership cycle. When you upgrade, you can choose one of the following options:

Option 1: Pro rata upgrade

Pay the difference between your current membership tier and the new tier, calculated on a pro rata basis for the remainder of your current cycle. Your membership end date will not change.

Option 2: New cycle

Pay the full annual fee for your new membership tier and start a new 12 month cycle from the date of upgrade. Your previous membership end date will be replaced by the new end date.

The pro rata calculation for Option 1 is based on the number of full months remaining in your current cycle. Upgrades cannot be reversed once processed, and the difference paid (or any portion of fees from your previous tier) is not refundable.

Membership downgrades

We do not process membership downgrades during an active membership cycle. If you wish to move to a lower membership tier, you can do so when your current membership comes up for renewal.

Duplicate or accidental payments

If you have been charged twice for the same membership, or have made an accidental payment, please contact us as soon as possible at admin@summerfruit.com.au. We will investigate and refund any duplicate or erroneous payments within a reasonable time, generally within 10 business days of confirming the error.

Failed or interrupted services

Where a member benefit, resource or service forming part of your membership is unavailable or significantly interrupted for an extended period due to circumstances within our control, we will work with you to make good the issue. This may include extending your membership cycle, providing alternative access, or, at our discretion, offering a partial refund.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws that cannot be lawfully excluded.

If a service we provide fails to meet a consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law, you may be entitled to a remedy. Where the failure is major, this may include a refund. Where the failure is not major, we may choose to remedy the issue by other reasonable means.

Other refunds

This policy applies to membership fees only. Refunds for event registrations, merchandise, sponsorships and other purchases are handled under the terms applicable to those products and services at the time of purchase.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website at www.summerfruit.com.au and will apply to memberships purchased or renewed after the updated policy comes into effect.
